Custom Crafted Mended HeartS

Hello.

Although every custom handcrafted Mended Heart is designed by Basile, most Mended Hearts are not made in advance but are made-to-order.

I’ve put together a few tips to help you.

1: The Wood

Sourcing of the wood is a huge part of creating your custom Mended Heart.

• Do you want wood from a particular region?

• Do you want wood with figuring, such as burl or quilted wood?

• Do you want light colored or dark colored wood?

• Do you want naturally cracked or a custom shaped design?.

2: Overall Size

Mended Hearts have been created in sizes ranging from 9-inches and up. Some things to consider:

• Where will your art piece hang?

• How much space to do you want your custom heart to take up?

• Do you want to acquire a collection of hearts and group them?

3: Design

Generally people want Basile to take full artistic liberty when creating their Mended Heart. If that works for you, great!

If you want to give input on certain ideas you have visualized, that’s great too!

You will be collaborating directly with Basile on your design idea. Having a drawing will aid in this process.

4: Budget

There are a few variables in determining pricing of your custom crafted MENDED HEART.

• Thickness of the slab.

• Species of wood and grain.

• Highly figured wood.

• Complexity of design.

• Labor.
